List of Best Female Shooters from India

Shooting is popular game of India which was first started in European countries 500 years ago. Shooting sport became very popular in 1950 when National Association of America created this game as sport. Now millions of people worldwide played this game. In this game the sportsperson using rifle, pistol, shotguns and handguns. Many Indian female shooters currently won gold medals in 2018 Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia.

The National Rifle Association of India organises the following tournaments every year in India. The women shooting sport was first include in Olympics in 1984. There are three event held in Olympics and commonwealth games for women shooting such as rifle, pistol and shotgun.


1. Heena Sidhu



Heena Sidhu is a professional Indian sport shooter who was born on 29th August 1989 in Ludhiana, Punjab. In 2013 ISSF world cup Sidhu won gold medal and became the first Indian pistol shooter. She competes in 10 metre air pistol event. In 2018 commonwealth games Sidhu also won gold medal at 10 metre air pistol event.

2. Manu Bhaker



Manu Bhaker was born on 18th February 2002 in Jhajjar, India. She is the youngest Indian sport shooter who won gold medal at 2018 commonwealth games held in Gold Coast, Australia. Bhaker competes in 10 metre air pistol event. Bhaker also expert in other sports such as Huyen langlon, a Manipuri martial art, as well as boxing, tennis and skating, winning medals at the national games in these events.

3. Shreyasi Singh



Shreyasi Singh is a professional Indian sport shooter who won many medals for her country. She was born on 29th August 1991 in Giddhaur, Jamui, Bihar. She competes in double trap event. Currently Shreyasi won gold medal in 2018 commonwealth games. She won five medals in her career one gold, three silver and 1 bronze. 

4. Tejaswini Sawant



Tejaswini Sawant was born on 12 September 1980 in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. She is a best Indian sport shooter who many medals for her country. Her father Ravindra Sawant was an Indian Navy officer. In 2018 commonwealth games Sawant represented India and won gold medal at women's 50 metre rifle 3 positions. Kuheli Gangulee given training to Tejaswini Sawant. 

 5. Apurvi Chandela



Apurvi Chandela is a famous sport shooter of India who competes in 10 metre air rifle event. She was born on 4th January 1993 in Jaipur. She completed his graduation in sociology honours from Jesus Mary College, Delhi University. In 2014 commonwealth games she won gold medal at 10 metre air rifle event. Her father Kuldeep Singh Chandela is a hotelier.
